And I look like it too...

I told one of my co-workers today that I felt like crap and being her supportive peppy self she said "And you look...." Then she rephrased herself "Uh I mean you don't look like crap but you look like you feel like crap." Thanks...I think not.
Me looking and feeling crappy

Look at those horrid dark circles!
(This is where you all say Awwww, poor thing)
So again I feel like crap. Not like the 'long day with noisy students' crap but the real 'stuffed head, plugged nostrils, sore throat, painful cough (good for my abs?) and exhausted' kind of crap. (Ok now I have even said that word too much) Am I disappointed? YES! I was almost finished with two weeks of teaching my PreK class when I felt the cold coming on. (I thought I had avoided the inevitable) And of course as usual it hit me like a doozy. I slept all day Saturday and Sunday and barely made it through yesterday. I woke up this morning with no voice at all. I went to work but came home at lunch. What is the point of whispering to 15 five year olds? Despite what you may think it is like trying to get that last little sip out of the milk jug. Its just not happening.
Then I asked myself a very reflective question....
What is it with me and this profession? I always get sick and I complain about long days and noisy kids. I guess it is a little too late to re evaluate my options of what I want to do when I graduate but some days there is a little voice that yells WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!!? While I enjoy working and teaching children, they really have a hard time listening and NEVER cover their mouths. They tattle and cry and whine and fight. I even had ninja wrestlers today (just picture that for a minute) What a gong show!
To make nice I do really like to teach....when the students are a few years older and can wash their own hands and do up their own zippers. However their is just something about the hugs and kisses (really they kiss me with sticky lips) that melts my heart everyday. When I walked out the door today one student told me to feel better and called me beautiful. Another whispered quietly that I was his true love (exact words I promise) So I guess I will take two and call you all in the morning....or at least after I do circle time and play Simon Says 27 more times.

What we have been doing...

Not much is happening here on the home front. We are kinda boring now since I have a job and Gray is in school. However I think a blog looks dull without pictures so there are a few I captured over the last few days...

This is a rare moment and one that has not been seen by many people.
Yes, Grayson is actually studying!!

Here is another project that I have started and need to finish soon. I am making calendars for Christmas presents and I really will finish them... sometime. I am just taking a break like I did with my quilt (Mom, did you finish that for me yet?) and our wedding pictures (I promise they will be in frames soon!)
But they are just so cute and I just thought a preview would be nice. I have enjoyed having my Thursday afternoons free so I can scrap with some good friends. (Thanks Sarah and Joy for letting me come and play!)
And lastly this is a picture of my caramel apples that I made. And I just might add that they were delicious although they look welfare!

I am sure we will be doing some more fun and exciting things soon and I will take my camera with me. We are excited to go home for American Thanksgiving for a wedding and are really looking forward to the holiday season!

I GOT A JOB..... and I am going crazy!

Hi all! I know it has been a coon's age since we last posted so I am just going to give a little update. I have absolutely no time to do a huge update as I have a job and it is making me insane. I am teaching a PreK/Kindergarten class at a place called Small World Learning Center. It is fun in the morning but in the afternoon we have some older kids that come after school and they mess up my room and pick on my little kiddies! They love to watch me pull my hair out. Oh well I am going to have to make an appearance as Miss Meanie for a few days and then I hope they will settle.

Other than that Gray is busy busy with school and never seems to get tired of telling me the names of the 5 bajillion bones in my neck. Seriously it is almost like he is speaking a different language.

I also have a few pics to post but I will do that later when my head stops spinning. We hope everyone is having a good fall.....or winter for some of you. I keep waiting for it to stop raining and start snowing but I think I will have to wait a lot longer for that to happen. We love hearing how you all are doing so be sure and comment on how much you love hearing from us!!
