Lost and Found

After weeks of searching and months of bad dreams, our dearly departed Alli has been FOUND! This past Friday I received a call from a nice lady officer informing me that, yes indeed, my piece of crap car had been located. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. That may seem like a weird response but I honestly thought the poor thing was at the bottom of the Columbia. Since that fateful night when we first lost Alli, my dreams have been full of home invading criminals and shady cops out to get me. I sometimes even woke up sweating and had to quickly jump out of bed to make sure that our new car was still sleeping in her spot. To say that this has been a long and crazy road I've traveled would be an understatement (but all the anxiety and stress I deal with on a day to day basis is for another post(s)).

We went out to check on the condition of our returned wreck. Needless to say I didn't even recognize our car in the parking lot. I mean the outside is pretty much the same with minimal damage done to the hood but it was like I completely forgot what Alli looked like. I had pushed the image of her out of my mind to save my sorry soul. And it just went downhill from there. The stereo was yanked out and the car was a mess.

The day the music died

The car has more gas in it than it did when it was stolen...thanks(?)

We reluctantly payed $150 to rescue Alli from her prison only to discover her battery was dead and the clutch was broken. Another $60 towed Alli home to our parking lot... and to top it all off we got a $280 parking ticket for abandoning the car. I think we should have just left the car at the tow place. Gray wants to fix it up (another whack load of money) and have it to drive to school. Power to him. In all honesty I have written off the car and look forward to many nights of peace and deep sleep. Too bad I now wake up three times a night and have to locate TWO cars in the parking lot before I can get some decent rest. Next time I hope the car stays lost!

And for my mommy I will now show off my new hairdo and Grayson's existing one....

5 inches later

Gray NEEDS a haircut
(plus he needs to start smiling normally for the camera!)

Alli is probably salvageable so let Grayson have that project. I really think that if you reported the car stolen, the parking ticket is a moot point. don't pay it...it's just wrong. You didn't abandon your car-you lost it.

Ha Ha! Graysons face is hilarious. Sounds like an adventure, I hope Grayson can make it work for him! Not his face... The car... Sad we're gonna miss you in Canada, we're probably gonna move to Vegas sometime in September, so you should check flights and come visit. Allegiant is super cheap especially if you carry on your luggage!
