This is just a quickie post to let you all know that I am alive...I wish I could add that I was well too but that would be a little untrue. While I am finally on the mend (thanks to a three hour wait and free meds at a local clinic) I still have some interesting colors in my Kleenex and my cough is still juicy. I found out I have the worst sinus infection in the universe and that pneumonia is still a possible outcome after all. I have been leaving snotty tissues for the Healthy Fairy to come and take away but alas they are still there is the morning.
So this is my game plan. I have to be 100% feeling way better by November 24 or my life is over. Gray and I are taking a road trip to Cali to see my bestest friend Jess and her family for US Thanksgiving. I am planning to detox with crackers, water, fruit and veggies for the next week and a half. Hopefully that will rid my body and soul of all the toxins infecting me. During this time I will of course be working with the sickly children so I am only breathing in through my mouth when I absolutely have to and I am bathing in sanitizer three times an hour. I think it might work! I really really really want to be better.
If I recall my Thanksgiving road trip from last year I remember being terribly ill with the same sort of thing that ails me now. We took the train back home to Canada for Gray's sister's wedding. It took 18 hours and it was hell. (sorry) I laid awake on the train all night with a stuffed head and horrid cough while Gray slept peacefully one isle over. When we finally finally got home I slept all day and tried to prepare for the wedding the next afternoon. But Saturday morning I was in the hospital while Gray and his family and friends enjoyed an amazing waffle breakfast and got ready. I made it to the temple in time and posed for one picture before going straight back to bed. We left the next evening and I again suffered through an unbearably long train ride only to return to work again. I then cracked a rib and developed pneumonia and stayed sick until March. So as you can see I MUST get better. I am crossing my fingers and toes cause I want to eat turkey with my besties and toast the gods of all better again!
