As I stared at my breakfast this morning I couldn't help but wonder when I became an 80 year old woman! So many pills: Reactine (for allergies), a multivitamin (x2), vitamins C and D, Fish Oil, (x2) Rhodiola (x2) and a couple more. My poor banana is hugely outnumbered! When they say to get a well balanced meal I guess I am a little one sided.
I am also convinced that chiropractors (and chiro students) in Oregon think they can heal and solve any problem my body has. I have had a sleeping disorder since I was a wee child but my current intern is sure he can cure that. And I have always been embarrassed about the fact that I have depression and anxiety issues but I think I have that all under control (somewhat) Really I go see the chiro because all I really want is a back rub...this guy is practically trying to cure the "cancer" in me. I have dealt with all this stuff for over 20 years and nothing has worked... but I do have to give props to the guy for trying I guess and I do want to be healthier.
So here is my dilemma. I do not exercise a lot and I eat whatever I want whenever I want. Just ask my bff and old roomie Renee. Our first year at university together, I would wake up covered in stuffed animals and blankets. Renee would throw all her things at me in the night because I was either chatting up a storm in my sleep or digging in a Pringles can or munching candy... I was totally unaware that I was doing this but I suppose that explains the freshman 15! (I once even freaked on one of my other roomies for using my mom's homemade strawberry jam to make a sandwich when I had sticky fingers and crumbs all over me after one forgotten late night snack.)
So I am going to set some goals... lose weight and eat better! Simple, right? I have been doing at least 20 minutes of cardio each day (lol...for the last two days!) and I want to eat more fruits and veggies. Plus I have about 15 lbs I want to lose before I have a baby (no dear friends I am not preggo).
I am informing you of these decisions because I need to stay motivated and what better way to do so than share my daily struggles.... or goals with you. Wish me luck! And feel free to kick me in the pants if you catch me sneaking snacks or sitting on my rear end. Cause really, that's what friends are for!!

Ha that's too funny! I'm also trying to get in better shape, as of last week. Today is supposed to be my 8 minute abs, buns, and arms, so I'm putting off my shower until I do it, and I'm putting of exercising, because I'm lazy. Hopefully you'll be more motivated than me!
That is awesome that you are trying. I give you props. My recomendation is to sign up for a fun race like a five K or 10K. It gives you something to work for and it makes it a ton of fun. (you don't have to win the race)
Good luck Diana! I too am in the midst of trying to work towards some goals so I am all for the moral support right now! For the past couple of months I keep saying I need to keep my weight gain under control and it has happened yet. Hope you do better than I have! Good luck!! By the way I love the roomies stories!
Ha ha... way funny Diana! And the other comments are hilarious too! I also, would like to lose weight but I signed up for a cake decorating class instead! ha ha.
You can do it! I love the picture very funny! Good luck!
Go for it! You will be surprised by what a little change in your diet or activity can do for your body. Just don't ever let yourself believe it's not working-- it IS working, even if you can't tell yet! Don't give up.
