Making of a Modern Mother 2

I loved loved loved reading all your comments on the last post. I kinda laughed because personally when I feel... gassy...

it kinda hurts...

haha

and so I am hoping that this little bean is easier on my body.

In other news we also found out we are having a boy. Not sure how I really feel about it. I mean I am so grateful that I am having a baby finally and that he is healthy and growing right on schedule BUT I always always always thought I would have a girl first and I was more than prepared for
ribbons and curls and everything pink.
The introduction of slime and boogers is just gonna take a while. That's all I am gonna say...I will share our initial reactions in the next post.

But onto other subjects...

I am tired of looking like normal... I am so pregnant and still kinda sick but there is
still very little to show.
I am so not complaining;
just curious.

Here's where you come in again.
I am 19 weeks and still wearing most of my normal clothes.

When did you finally feel like you were showing?

I am getting anxious!!

don't rush it, by the 2nd or 3rd pregnancy you'll be showing the moment you get pregnant (as least that's how it was for me) and it'll make the pregnancy that much longer because everyone will expect that you're further along than you are and keep saying things like "you're STILL pregnant??" or "you haven't had that baby YET?"

With my first one I started showing in the teens (and like everyone else said, with subsequent pregnancies you show earlier and earlier...one lady even said "Congratulations!" to me at 8 weeks pregnant with my 3rd, when I thought I was hiding it with a loose shirt!) but it totally depends on your body. You are not a shorty so it will take longer. It is fun to start showing, I don't blame you for wanting to. Makes you feel less fat and more advanced in the pregnancy. PS-- you will always think you look bigger than everyone else thinks you look (at least that's true for my self-absorbed self). So even when you think you're showing, other people might not notice.

You will likely 'pop' at any time. Good for you for still wearing normal clothes. Oh and boogies come with both genders... I promise :)

Um its not the boogers you should be concerned about with boys, its blood, and bugs and total lack of common sense, endless weiner talk, MESSES and the frustration of finding things that dont have dinosaurs, soccer balls, or trains plastered all over. But congrats! hehe. No really, totally excited. As for showing, first one I was running around in my reg clothes and 2 piece swim suits until delivery, I just used the belly bands, was sporting a gut at about 6 months, 2nd one im pretty sure I was wearing maternity shirts at 18 weeks and telling everyone I was with child and not just fat :) # 3 seriously was out of my pants at 6 weeks and into yoga gear. Enjoy your still- fitting clothes!!

With Jonas I never even made it to maternity pants I just went up a size and stuck with low riders... At work you couldn't even tell I was pregnant til I was about 7 months or so, but my shirt was super baggy I think I really popped about 6 months in. You'll show quicker with number 2!

I wanted to show so badly on both my pregnancies so I know how you feel. I still fit in regular clothes up until delivery with Eliza, but I started wearing maternity clothes because they were so dang comfy! (And I got a whole new maternity wardrobe for my bday!) With Luke I think you could tell about 6 or 7 months but the day after delivery I fit into my regular clothes better than I did before I got pregnant. Pregnancy just does different things to different people.... be grateful that you aren't showing but feel free to rock the maternity clothes whenever you want! Do you have any names on the table yet?

Dont think that slime and boogers is all for the boys.. slime and boogers is just a kids thing!! :) so be prepared that for the next 10 years, thats what you will see on your kids faces!!
Your reaction to having a boy reminds me of a Sex and the City episode where Miranda finds out shes having a boy and someone tells her later on that she growing a little penis inside her.. Just think that way. that should make you smile! :) haha.. And as for showing, i remember with my first that was all i wanted, now being on my third, i still try and wear non-maternity clothes as much as possible. One day your gonna wake up and have your baby belly be popped out! :)

Congrats!!!! I'm a little disapointed too! I love buying girly clothes. Oh well, he'll be a heart breaker like the Brandley Boys. When are you coming home so I can see your non belly belly?!
